HIV testing in Arizona is confidential, but not anonymous. You will be asked to provide information about yourself and what might put you at risk for getting HIV. If you use a home test and have a positive result, you will be asked to provide information about yourself if you have a follow up in-person lab test.
If you test negative for HIV
Your name and contact information will not be reported. Some limited information, like your age, gender and risk factors will be added to an appropriate database.
If you test positive for HIV
Your testing provider is required by state law to report your name and the results of your test to the Arizona Department of Health Services. This information is kept in a secure database and is confidential. Your insurance company, employer or other outside organizations will not know the results of your test unless you give express permission to share the information.
