ARIZONA 2022-2026 HIV/STI/HEP C INTEGRATED PLAN
The HIV/STI/Hep C Integrated Plan covers the overlapping epidemics of HIV, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and hepatitis C (hep C) across Arizona. It was created to serve Arizonans affected by or experiencing risk for HIV, STIs, and hep C, and functions as a high-level framework to direct our priorities, goals, and strategies.

More detailed information on the activities and suggestions for each objective is available – email HIVIntegratedPlan@azdhs.gov if you are interested in more information on a specific objective!
You can also review the data we gathered to help us write the plan – click to read our Epi Snapshot and our Needs Assessment.
We learned SO MUCH from the participants of our Integrated Plan process throughout 2021 and 2022. Our published plan only includes goals, objectives, and strategies….but there was so much more!
The planning team has compiled all of the activities, details, and considerations that we heard from planning participants into a Companion Document. If you would like additional documentation to support program development, expansion, or adjustments, please complete this short survey to request the Companion Document.
HOW ARE WE DOING SO FAR?
The Integrated Plan team monitors and evaluates the Integrated Plan each fall. See below for our first reports.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
The Arizona HIV Statewide Advisory Group (SWAG) supports all statewide planning efforts. It meets quarterly, and is open to all people in Arizona interested in or affected by HIV! We’d love to have you join us at our next meeting – please email Deborah.Reardon@azdhs.gov for more information.
Each winter, the Integrated Plan team hosts a webinar to share updates from the previous year. Our next update webinar will be held in January 2024. Please check back for more information as that date gets closer.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION & RESOURCES
When developing the current plan, focus groups were conducted in February – June 2022 to inform the plan. The results and takeaways are included in a short report, linked here.
Needs assessment surveys on HIV, STI, and hep C services were also conducted in 2021 and 2022 to prepare for writing the plan. You can email us at HIVIntegratedPlan@azdhs.gov to hear about what we learned.
The 2022-2026 HIV/STI/Hep C Integrated Plan was built upon national and state HIV, STI, and hepatitis C goals, plans, and strategies. It also drew on previous HIV prevention and care plans written in partnership with the community, such as the 2017-2021 Integrated HIV Prevention and Care Plan for Arizona, and the 2020 Ending the HIV Epidemic Plan for Maricopa County (Spanish).
